I know this post is a little old, but I just got back from my first sober vacation and I really enjoyed it. At times I felt a little jealous of everyone else having wild crazy fun, but the next morning I’d see them looking awful and overhear complaints about feeling sick, where I’d be up early, watching the sunrise feeling great. Also I can relate to not “needing a vacation from my vacation”. I thought that was just normal for everyone, but getting back I felt so refreshed… how a vacation is supposed to make you feel.

Your blog is great. Thanks for sharing.

I saw your article on the BBC website recently it it gave me the kick start I needed to quit drinking. I’m only on day 4 (!) but I’ve been reading your blog, starting with the start of your journey. I’m surrounded by lots of people who don’t drink, including family members and friends, but psychologically, drinking is so ingrained into most occasions, that I can’t describe how helpful it is for you to break down tips like this, holidays, celebrations, relaxation etc. Thank you for sharing your journey so openly so the rest of us can tread your path.
