Thank you for this article, it’s really useful and insightful. I want to get better at writing professionally, but I can see writing for me is a good way to practice.

Do you hand write? My handwriting is so weak these days as I only ever type.

Yes I do! I just scribble in a notebook – my writing is messy but no one else sees it so I think it doesn’t matter 🙂 x

I can relate to your story. I hit rock bottom in 2014. I had $26 in my account and used $25 of it to start my blog. I started out just writing about random stuff because it was like an escape for me to another reality. Then I found myself along the way. Where I am today is not where I was in 2014.

5 journals in 18 months is incredible! Way to go for sticking to it. I am trying to do the same by doing brain dumps in a journal every day – sometimes it works, somedays things are too hectic. But whenever I can’t write in my notebook I write for my blog, and that is so freeing! I feel far more in control of my life when I am writing the story.

Thanks for this post! I love the idea of writing letters to what you are struggling with.

I have been writing almost daily ever since 2012. It has become a normal life practice for me and is the most liberating thing! I love documenting my struggles, goals, and achievements and then being able to look back at my progress. I am a HUGE advocate for journaling and have talked a lot about it on my blog. Great post 🙂
